The Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust offers postgraduate bursaries as well
as undergraduate bursaries.

We have had a significant reduction in the number of applications received
for a postgraduate bursary. Therefore, please could you direct any
postgraduate students, who you think fit our eligibility criteria, to our
website

www.leverhulme-trade.org.uk

where they will find further details and the application forms to apply for
a postgraduate bursary. The deadline for applications for a postgraduate
bursary is 1st October 2010 and the maximum bursary available is £5,000.

The Big GU Summer BBQ will be held at Hughes Hall from 2pm on 29th August 2010. This event was a sell-out success last year, don’t miss out this year. Tickets, including food, drinks and a live band, are just £8 — but numbers are limited. Please reserve your place by booking online here then secure your place by either bringing in cash or cheques (payable to “University of Cambridge Graduate Union”) or sending cheques (with names and CRSids of the students attending written on the back) via the University Mailing Service, to the Graduate Union Office by Monday 23rd August.

Also, unless you’ve been living in some media-proof bunker, you’ll know today is English football’s own special D-Day. If you want to support/jeer or are just short of other entertainment/pressing work, we’ll be watching it in the Owlstone common room – kickoff at 3pm – and then heading outside to dominate the last of the sausagey BBQ leftovers.

Please join us at the Graduate Union in Mill Lane to watch the Opening
Ceremony of the Soccer World Cup and match between South African vs Mexico
on Friday 11 June. The ceremony and game will be shown at 1pm British
Summer Time on ITV.

The Graduate Union will be offering some refreshment (soft drinks, pizza
and crisps).

The South African flags will be flying, but please invite friends of any
Nationality to join us and bring their flags along as well.
