The Woodville Room is the “home” of Queens’ College MCR (Middle Combination Room). It is situated in Cripps Court with great views overlooking the Mathematical Bridge and the old part of the College, located close to the porter’s lodge, buttery, QBar, and fitness facilities. Well equipped, the Woodville Room contains comfy chesterfield sofas, tables and chairs, a pool table, games console and so forth, and is a perfect place to relax with friends in between classes and seminars. There is also a computer and printer for use by any MCR member. During term, complementary pre-dinner sherry receptions are held in the Woodville Room before each MCR formal hall. On top of this, throughout the year, the Committee organises several very popular events held in the Woodville Room, including Halloween and Christmas parties. The lockers outside the Woodville room can be reserved at the start of the year, on a first-come first-served basis. To do this please contact the porters.
The Woodville room is a special facility for us all and exists to enhance our time at Queens’. Please abide by college and MCR rules with regards to its use, ensuring the Room is kept tidy and that noise levels are kept to a minimum so as not to disturb our neighbours.
The Woodville steward, one of the roles on the MCR committee, is responsible for the Woodville room (as well as the punts in Queens’). Please get in touch with them on firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions regarding the use of the room or suggestions to improve it!
