Food and Drink

- The cashless system, which is how will pay for food and drink in college. Instructions for registering can be found here.
Sports Facilities
- There is a multigym in Lyon Court with two stationary cycles, a leg curl/extension machine, a hip flexion machine, a squat machine, a tread mill, a cross trainer and multi-station with bench press, pull down and a chin-up bar. Membership is required– forms to apply can be found here.
- There are three squash courts in Lyon Court. Keys are required, and may be signed out from the Porters’ Lodge. During term the courts can be busy in the evenings and on weekends, so it’s good to sign up ahead of time on the booking calendar (also in the plodge). You’ll need a pound coin to operate the lights, but it’s returned to you immediately.
- The college sports ground on Barton Rd. has pitches for soccer, rugby, hockey, cricket and several tennis courts. Click here for more info.
- The college has several punts which can be hired out during the warmer months from the Porters’ Lodge. When it’s nice out they usually need to be booked in advance, also at the plodge.
Welfare
- The Queens’ Health Centre, run by the college nurse Mairi Hurrell can be the first point of contact for medical and psychological health problems.
- Linkline operates a confidential listening phone service for Cambridge students.
- The University runs a counselling service specifically for mental health problems.
- For pastoral care, there is the Dean and Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Jonathan Holmes (jmh38). Though affiliated with the Anglican Church, he is delighted to help and advise anyone. He is a great resource for information about other places of worship and religious communities in Cambridge.
